Pitt-Bradford Heads To La Roche For Weekend AMCC Match

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team will head to La Roche for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match Saturday.

The Panthers suffered a loss in their lone game so far this week, falling to Medaille at home Tuesday.

Pitt-Bradford sits at 2-3 in AMCC play, which is good for sixth in the conference, picking up wins over Penn State-Altoona (Sept. 23) and at Hilbert (Oct. 4).

The 10 goals scored by the Panthers are made up of four separate players. Ryuta Hayakawa, Steven McFetridge and Ugwunna Amadi have three apiece while Ethan Acaster has scored one.

Acaster leads the team with 19 shots while Hayakawa has fired 18. Wyatt May and Hayakawa each have each put nine shots on goal.

In goal, Derrick Brock has made 103 saves and remains the conference's leader. 

After the contest at La Roche, the Panthers will be back home for back-to-back conference matches, next taking on Penn State-Behrend on Wednesday before hosting Pitt-Greensburg for Senior Day next Saturday.

  • The La Roche Redhawks welcome the Panthers with a 6-7-1 overall record and a 3-2-1 mark in AMCC games. La Roche sits one spot ahead of the Panthers in the standings in fifth. The Redhawks are on a three-game unbeaten streak, having tied Franciscan (Oct. 4), defeated Hilbert (Oct. 7) and shutout Pitt-Greensburg (Oct. 10).
  • The Redhawks have earned four of their six wins at home.
  • Pedro Ansede is second in the conference with 11 goals scored. His teammate, Joaquin Vincent Franch, leads the AMCC with nine assists.
  • In goal, Austin Gorman sees the most time of the team's four keepers. In 11 games started and 982:12 minutes on the pitch, he allows 2.29 goals per game, surrendering 25 total while making 59 saves.
