Panthers Back Home As Medaille Comes To Town Wednesday

BRADFORD, Pa. – After four-straight games on the road, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team will be back home Tuesday as Medaille comes to the Kessel Athletics Complex for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match. 

The Panthers are coming off a week in which they split their two games, first coming out on top at Hilbert on Wednesday before falling at Franciscan Saturday.

Pitt-Bradford sits at 2-2 in AMCC play, which is good for sixth place in the conference standings.

In Wednesday's win, Ethan Acaster's first goal of the season broke a scoreless tie with under 10 minutes remaining in regulation, giving the Panthers their second AMCC victory.

In goal, Derrick Brock earned his second shutout win of the season – both coming in conference play. Brock leads the conference with 91 saves and holds the second-best save percentage through conference games at .786. 

Steven McFetridge, Ryuta Hayakawa and Ugwunna Amadi continue to hold the team lead with three goals apiece.

Acaster has four points as he's assisted two goals to go along with his one score. Matthew Perry also has a pair of assists, while Michael Giopulos has one assist.

Pitt-Bradford has five games remaining, three of which will be at home.

Tuesday's game will begin at 2 p.m. and serve the first game of a doubleheader, with the women's teams playing after.

  • The Medaille Mavericks come into the Kessel Athletics Complex in third place in the conference at 4-1 in AMCC games and 9-4 overall.
  • After falling to Mount Aloysius in their conference opener, the Mavericks have since won four-straight, including back-to-back 4-0 shutout wins over D'Youville (Oct. 4) and Pitt-Greensburg (Oct. 7) most recently.
  • With 18 goals and 3.60 per game in conference play, Medaille has the second-highest powered AMCC offense. Mitchell Ali and Given Holy Gbode told the team lead with six goals apiece while James Lang has scored five. Lachlan Wilkinson has the third-most assists in the conference with seven.
  • In goal, Matthew Gabalski has allowed the second-fewest goals in the conference with 11 on the year while posting the fourth-best goals against average at 1.33 in his nine games and 745:56 minutes on the pitch.
