Men's Soccer Picked to Finish 9th in Preseason Coaches' Poll

BRADFORD, Pa. - With the fall sports season right around the corner, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released its 2015 Preseason Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll, predicting the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's team will finish ninth.

Ninth-year head coach Darek Panol plans to embrace the role as the conference underdog.

"Despite our low ranking in the conference's preseason poll, I'm very confident in the opportunity to play the underdog role and shock some teams this fall," Panol said. "We have a great core of returning players and some great players coming in, which will help us make a legitimate run at the conference title this year."

The conference named Brian Bao and Bryan McCoy players to watch in the upcoming season. Boa appeared in all 18 games for the Panthers last season. He finished the year with one goal and one assist, including one game-winner. McCoy is expected to lead the defense in his junior season. He appeared in nine games last season, making eighth starts.

The men are set to open the 2015 campaign Friday, Sept. 4. at Keuka College. The team will play their home opener Wednesday, Sept. 9, against Juniata at 2 p.m.
