Pitt-Bradford Golf: Fall 2021 Season Preview

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Golf team is returning to the course this fall looking to improve upon their third-place finish in last year's AMCC standings.

After graduating 5 members from the 2019 AMCC Champion team, the Panthers had a new look in 2021. They were led by Johnny Fiore, who posted the second-best stroke average in 2021, 79.17 per round, and took second at the AMCC Championship.

This season, the Panthers will rely on two seniors to lead a fairly young team. Jarod Chafee is in his 4th season with the program. Chaffee stepped into an increased role as a Junior, averaging 85.83 strokes per round on the season. He finished in 17th at the Championship. Evan Jordan joined the team in 2021 after previously being a member of the Pitt-Bradford Club Hockey team. Jordan averaged 88 strokes per round. His best finish in 21 was when he took 3rd place at the Medaille invitational with a season-low 79.

The team will be looking to sophomores Sean Campbell and Drew Swanson to continue to improve and contribute in each tournament. Newcomers Broderick Kamuda and Dominic Puma will also share scoring opportunities for the team.

The Panthers will start their season on Saturday, September 3rd. They will be as comfortable as possible in the opener as they will be playing their home course in the Pitt-Bradford Invitational. The tournament will feature 9 other teams. It begins at 12:00 p.m. at the Pennhills Club in Bradford.
