Panthers Begin Season with Third Place Finish at James Bowen Invitational

Erie, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Golf team kicked its season off with a trip to Erie to play in Penn State-Behrend's James Bowen Invitational.

The Panthers finished the event in 3rd place. As a team they used 356 strokes which was 68 strokes over par. Penn State-Altoona won the event with a 46-over par 334

Individually Johnny Fiore finished the tournament tied for second. Fiore fired an 11-over par 83, this was three strokes off the lead.

Evan Jordan put in a strong performance in his first tournament. The newcomer fired a 17-over par 89, which put him in a tie for 12th place.

Jarod Chaffee and Nick Mole also had top 20 finishes, shooting a 91 and 93 respectively. Freshman Sean Campbell rounded out the Panther scoring with a 98. Drew Swanson finished at 100.

The Panthers will be right back in action next weekend. They travel to Altoona, Pa to play in Penn State-Altoona's invitational at Sinking Valley Country Club. The vent is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 10th.
