Ignaczak, Stauffer Named Golfer, Coach of the Year, 3 Additional Golfers Make All-Conference

Bradford, Pa. -- Cary Ignaczak and Coach Keith Stauffer received the top individual honors from the AMCC on Thursday as they were named Conference Golfer and Coach of the Year. Three other Panthers, Cooper Cordova, Matt Moonan and Sam Marchini were also named to all-conference teams.

Ignaczak was the runaway winner for AMCC Men's Golfer of the year. The junior from Derby, N.Y. led the AMCC in scoring average, finishing the season with a 75.00. This average was over three strokes better than his nearest competitor. He picked up 4 individual tournament wins and finished in the top 5 in most others this season. In the AMCC Championships, Ignaczak shot a final round 73 to lock up both the individual medal for low score, and secure the second straight AMCC team title for Pitt-Bradford. Along with receiving the Player of the Year honor, Ignaczak was also named 1st team all-conference.

Stauffer was voted Coach of the Year by his peers for the second consecutive year. He coached the Panthers to 6 team victories this season, while individual players won 6 tournaments. He led Pitt-Bradford to their second consecutive AMCC Championship and will bring his team to the National Championships this spring, which will be held at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach, Fla.

Senior Cooper Cordova of Tucson, Az. joined Ignaczak on the 1st team. Cordova finished in a tie for 6th in the conference with a scoring average of 79.90. Cordova picked up two individual tournament wins. He won the Mount Aloysius invitational with a 2-over 74 and took the tiebreaker in the James Bowen Invitational, hosted by Penn State-Behrend, after shooting a 75. He finished the AMCC Championships tied for 4th with a two day total of 161.

Fellow Senior Matt Moonan was named 2nd team all-conference. Moonan finished the year tied with Cordova in scoring average, compiling an identical 79.90. Moonan set the program's record for lowest score in a competition round at the Penn State-Dubois Invitational when he fired a 2-under par 69. With the 2nd team honor, Moonan was named to all-conference teams for each of the four years he competed for the Panthers. He made the 2nd team as a freshman, 3rd team as a sophomore and junior and bookended his career with a 2nd team honor as a senior.

Sam Marchini was the final Panther named to all-conference teams, as he made the 3rd team. Marchini made his first appearance on the post-season honors list in his senior season. Marchini finished 11th in the conference with a scoring average of 80.20. He shot a two round 167 in the AMCC Championships to finish in a tie for 12th.
