ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Junior Cary Ignaczak of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Golfer of the Week for his performance during Saturday's season-opening action, conference officials announced Tuesday.

Ignaczak finished first at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational with a score of 70, two strokes better than the next-best finisher.

He paced the Panther team that won the event at the team's home course of Pennhills with a score of 299, the lowest round in program history.

Pitt-Bradford's score was 12 strokes better than the second-place team.

The Pitt-Bradford golf team will return to action Monday, Sept. 9, as they head to Penn State-DuBois.
