BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team is back in action Monday competing in the Westminster Invitational at New Castle Country Club.

After five days off, the Panthers are looking to continue their strong play from a week ago.

Most recently, the Panthers competed at La Roche and finished third overall but first of any other AMCC team.

Pitt-Bradford's team success was guided by Johnny Fiore's score of 76, which tied for the individual lead. Fiore played a tiebreaker to determine the event's medalist but did not come out victorious.

Three strokes behind Fiore was Cooper Cordova who shot a 79. 

Cary Ignaczak shot an 81 -- working a 37 on the front nine holes to lead the Panthers early on.

Matt Moonan shot an 83 and Jamie Rook fired a 91 to round out the Panther competitors. 

The Panthers bested Penn State-Behrend by just one stroke, as the Lions shot a 320.

The success at La Roche was an extension of a stellar weekend in which Pitt-Bradford finished second in the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic, combining scores at Penn State-Altoona (Sept. 15) and Mount Aloysius (Sept. 16). Pitt-Bradford won the event at Mount.

Moonan picked up the individual win in the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic with a combined score of 148. Fittingly, he was named the AMCC's Player of the Week.

After the Westminster Invitational, the Panthers will compete at Penn State-Behrend next Monday to wrap up their regular season. The 2018 AMCC Championships are set for Oct. 7-8 at Avalon Lakes in Youngstown, Ohio.
