WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team finished second out of 14 teams by shooting 317 Monday at New Castle Country Club in an event hosted by Westminster.

The Panthers missed the overall win by just two strokes as Grove City claimed the victory at 315.

"Matt played extremely well. It's nice to have him back, as he has put in a lot of work to elevate his game," Head Coach Keith Stauffer said. "Cary and Jamie were solid once again, and Sam pulled through after a tough back nine."

Matt Moonan put together his strongest round of the season so far and led the team with a 75.

Moonan's 75 was the third-lowest score recorded at the event.

Jamie Rook shot a 79, and Cary Ignaczak was one stroke behind at 80.

Pitt-Bradford will have a week off and participate in an event hosted by Penn State-Behrend on Monday, Oct. 2.
