Moonan, Gardner Named to All-AMCC Golf Team

Pitt-Bradford men's golf players Matt Moonan and Brett Gardner were named to the AMCC all-conference team. Moonan was selected to the second-team, and Gardner was a third-team pick.

Moonan ranked second in the AMCC with two wins this fall while posting five top 10 finishes. At the AMCC Championships, he placed sixth, the best showing among all freshman golfers.

The Bradford native opened the season firing a 74 at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational to finish in a three-way tie for first and captured medalist honors at Hilbert with a round of 78.

For the season, he ranked 13th in the conference in scoring average with a mark of 9.90 versus par.

Gardner, a junior, put together one of the best individual rounds on the final day of the AMCC Championships, jumping 11 spots from the first day to finish tied for fourth overall.

He registered a pair of top 10 finishes to start the season, tying for seventh at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational and ninth at Medaille. Gardner also finished tied for 14th at the James Bowen Invitational hosted by Penn State Behrend.

It marks the second time in his career the Curwensville native has been named to the all-conference team. He was a second-team pick in 2015.
