Men’s Golf places sixth at Penn State Behrend Invitational

ERIE, Pa. – The Pitt-Bradford men's golf team placed sixth at the Penn State Behrend Invitational on Monday, Sept. 22. The Panthers carded a team score of 329 to finish plus-41 over par.

Grove City College claimed the top spot in the tournament, finishing with a team score of 305 that was plus-17 over par. Thiel College came in second place with a final score of 308, while third place went to tournament host-Penn State Behrend that carded a 314.

Junior Zach Spicer shot a team-high 77, plus-five over par, to tie for sixth place and lead all Panthers on the course during the event. Sophomore Alex Hunter turned in a score of 79 to finish two strokes behind Spicer and tied for 13th place.

Freshman Brett Gardner finished with an 83 to tie for 24th; while sophomore John Bedford tallied a 90 to finish tied for 43rd. Rounding out the Panthers scorecard was Corey Hites. Hites carded a 96 to finish 50th.

Pitt-Bradford is right back on the links tomorrow, Sept. 23. The Panthers travel to Pittsburgh to take part in the La Roche Invitational that begins at 1 p.m.
