Pitt-Bradford Men Return To Action At Medaille Wednesday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team will head to Medaille for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest Wednesday.

This will be the Panthers' first action since hosting D'Youville last Wednesday, as the home contest against Franciscan Saturday was postponed due to severe winter weather.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a tough defeat against the Spartans, moving their AMCC record to 2-7 through the first half of the conference slate.

The Panthers and Mavericks first met on Nov. 28 in the AMCC opener at the KOA Arena, with Medaille coming out on top 79-60.

Reggie Rogers led all scorers with 20 points, while Desmond Brogsdale dropped 10 points, dished five assists and collected six boards.

Zach Reigel chipped in eight points on 4-5 shooting for the Panthers.

On the season, the Panthers remain one of the toughest defensive teams in the AMCC, averaging the second-most steals per game at 9.0.

In conference play, Pitt-Bradford averages 13.0 made free throws per game while shooting an average 19.1 per game, both averages good for fourth-best in the AMCC.

Medaille welcomes the Panthers with an overall mark of 8-8 and a conference record of 6-3, which is good for third place in the AMCC.

The Mavs have won three-straight games against D'Youville (Jan. 7), at Pitt-Greensburg (Jan. 12) and against Hilbert in overtime (Jan. 16).

Jonathan Smith (11.0 points per game) and Meghale Ford (10.6 points per game) lead Medaille's scoring efforts. Smith is the fifth-best rebounder in the AMCC averaging 7.6 boards per game.

Wednesday's contest is set for an 8 p.m. start with the women's game coming before at 6 p.m.
