Panthers Set To Head To Fredonia Tuesday, Host D'Youville Wednesday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team is set for a busy week, heading to Fredonia for a non-conference tilt Tuesday before returning home to host D'Youville for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup Wednesday.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a pair of tough road defeats at Hilbert Wednesday and at first-place La Roche Saturday.

At La Roche, Reggie Rogers and Dylan Mitchell led the Panthers' scoring efforts with 11 points apiece.  

Ugwunna Amadi chipped in eight points and six boards. George Alston led the squad with seven rebounds.

Pitt-Bradford did a solid job getting to the line, shooting 21 free throws and only sending La Roche to the line to shoot 12.

On the season, Rogers leads the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game.

Fredonia welcomes the Panthers with a 1-11 mark overall this season, its lone win coming in a double-overtime battle against Geneseo on Jan. 8.

De'Quan Smith is the team's leading scorer averaging 11.8 points per game. Mark Morgan pulls in a team-best 3.8 boards per game.

Wednesday, Pitt-Bradford will welcome D'Youville for its first home conference game since Jan. 5 when it defeated Mount Aloysius 62-59. 

Pitt-Bradford is 2-1 at the KOA Arena in conference play.

The Spartans will come to town with a 5-8 overall record and a 3-4 mark in conference play. Most recently, D'Youville suffered a narrow 65-62 setback at Mount Aloysius but defeated Penn State-Behrend Wednesday, 73-71.

D'Youville owns the AMCC's leading scorer in Jer VanDuluitgaarden averaging 18 points per game. In addition, he ranks third in the conference averaging 8.9 boards per game. Two Spartans rank in the top five in three-point shooting, with Brian Sharp shooting the third-best percentage of 45.2 percent and Grant Beyer stroking at 44.6 percent.

Tuesday's non-conference contest is set for a 7 p.m. tip while Wednesday's AMCC showdown at the KOA Arena will start around 8 p.m., serving as the second part of a doubleheader with the women's game coming first.
