BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's basketball teams will return to action after a holiday break to host a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday, Jan. 2.

The Pitt-Bradford women's team will start the day hosting Alfred State at 2 p.m. while the men's team will play afterward at 4 p.m. against New York University.

The Panthers women's team's last action came at Franciscan on Dec. 15. The Panthers (4-5) rolled to a 77-51 victory, boosting their AMCC record to 4-1.

Pitt-Bradford enters 2019 tied with Hilbert and La Roche atop the AMCC at 4-1.

Leading the way for the Panthers on offense is Shaelyn Snipes, who ranks among the top scorers in the AMCC at 15.6 points per game.

Jennifer Isenberg is the third-best rebounder in the conference averaging 9.8 boards per game.

Etreece Adams and Latifah Cain tied for the lead in scoring at Franciscan with 17 points apiece. Adams leads the AMCC with a 52.8 shot percentage.

The Pitt-Bradford men (2-7) closed out 2018 hosting No. 25 Middlebury for a non-conference tilt.

The Panthers had a 36-29 lead at the half, holding Middlebury to 35.5 percent shooting and a 3-15 mark from long range in the opening half.

But Middlebury used a strong first 10 minutes of the second half to make up the deficit and eventually pull away from the Panthers.

Jeffrey Fry led the Panthers with 14 points and Dylan Mitchell dropped 10 points. Fry connected on 3-4 attempts from long range. He was also fouled shooting a three-pointer in the first half and made all three free throws.

On the season, Reggie Rogers is the team's leading scorer with 13.3 points per game. 

Justin Kusiappouh is second in the AMCC shooting 60.3 percent from the floor.

Alfred State's women's team is 3-7 so far this season. The Pioneers have dropped six-straight contests. The team's leading scorer is Emily Kelley at 10.7 points per game, while Kelsey Shaulis and Skylar Shaulis both average 10.1 points per game.

The NYU men's squad comes to the KOA Arena with an even 5-5 record having won its two most recent games. Ethan Feldman is the team's leading scorer averaging 19 points per game. Dom Christiano is the team's top rebounder averaging 9.6 boards per game and he also drops 16 points per game.
