CRESSON, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford held the lead at halftime but a strong second-half push sent Mount Aloysius past the Panthers, 57-52, Saturday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game. 

"Another really tough loss today," Head Coach Sean Brown Sr. said. "We got out to an early 27-11 lead, led by Dylan Niedermeyerbefore Mount cut it to eight before the half. Second half was a nightmare. We couldn't get a whistle and we couldn't get a rebound. I also had some major coaching errors in the game which put our guys in some bad spots. That's something I have to clean up if we want to get back in the win column."

Niedermeyer led the way with 16 points and Sahlil Harris scored 11.

The Pitt-Bradford offense was clicking early as the Panthers held a 12-2 lead at the 15:39 mark. 

Four minutes later, Christian Kelly-Perkins and Harris knocked down back-to-back three-pointers followed by a layup from Niedermeyer, putting the Panthers up 29-11. 

Mount Aloysius eventually worked its way back, though, and a three-ball right before the break sent the two teams into halftime with the Panthers holding a single-digit lead, 36-28.

A jumper from Harris to start the second half put the Panthers up double-digits once again.

But the Mounties responded with a 12-0 run to erase the Panther lead and take a 40-38 lead at the 11:21 mark.

Reggie Rogers answered with a three-pointer to regain the lead for Pitt-Bradford. 

The Mounties later went on a run and took a seven-point advantage, 51-44, with five minutes left in regulation.

Inside a minute to play, Kelly-Perkins knocked down a jumper to pull within three points, 55-52. 

On defense, the Panthers worked a stop highlighted by a blocked shot by Harris to keep the game within one possession.

Inbounding the ball off a timeout with 17 seconds left and a chance to tie the game, the Panthers had the ball stolen and the Mounties regained possession.

After a Panther foul to extend the game, Mount Aloysius knocked down a pair at the line to make it a two-possession game. 

Mount Aloysius then stopped the Panthers on defense and held on for the 57-52 win. 

The Mounties outscored the Panthers 29-16 in the second half. 

Rogers led the Panthers in rebounding with six boards. 

Desmond Brogsdale was the top distributor for the Panthers with four assists.

Harris blocked four shots. 

In total, the Panthers outshot the Mounties, 40.4 percent to 38.8 percent. 

The Panthers held the Mounties to a 2-11 mark on three-point field goals. Pitt-Bradford shot 4-15 beyond the arc and Rogers knocked down a pair.

Up next, the Panthers will play their second-straight road game as they head to Medaille Wednesday.
