Pitt-Bradford men's basketball players Evan Greening and Fateem Brockington were named to the AMCC all-conference team, the league announced Tuesday.
Greening was a first-team selection for the second straight season, and Brockington was a third-team pick.
Greening led the league in scoring (20.2) and rebounding (14.3) for the second straight season, and he is just one of three players in NCAA Division III to average more than 20 points and 13 rebounds a game. The senior forward ranks in the top five nationally in double-doubles (20), offensive rebounds per game (5.56) and rebounds per game.
The Fredericksburg, Virginia, native broke the AMCC record for total rebounds in a season (328) this year, previously held by former Panther Matt Beacom (2002-03). Greening finished with 357 total boards, and his per-game average is a new conference record.
He led the AMCC with 212 made field goals, and 57 percent shooting clip ranked second among all players. For his career, Greening finished with more 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
Greening was announced earlier today as one of 10 finalists for the 2017 Jostens Trophy, honoring the most outstanding NCAA Division III men's basketball player, and he is one of 10 players across all levels of college basketball to be named to the 2017 Allstate NABC Good Works Team®, recognizing student-athletes for their impressive commitment to bettering communities all over the world and positively impacting the lives of those around them.
Brockington, another senior, earned All-AMCC honors for the first time in his career. He started all but one game for the Panthers while finishing second on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game.
The Philadelphia native was among the top free throw shooters in the conference this season, ranking fifth in free throws made (91-112) and sixth in free throw percentage (81.3). His 90 total assists were the seventh-most in the league.
Brockington recorded double-digit points in 18 of the team's 25 games and hit the game-winning shot in the team's 75-74 victory over La Roche on Jan. 21. In his final game as a Panther, he scored 20 points on 7-11 shooting and handed out four assists.
