Burgess, Men’s Hoops continue conference run with 77-59 victory over Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. – Senior Keith Burgess posted a game-high 19 points to lead the Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team to a 77-59 victory over Penn State Altoona on Saturday.

Pitt-Bradford (5-6, 2-2) came into the matchup fresh off a huge home victory over Hilbert before taking it to the Lions of Penn State Altoona (3-9, 0-5) this afternoon.

Burgess finished the game with his 19 points to go with four rebounds and two assists. Also racking up double digit scoring performances was sophomore Zach Smith with 13 points, three rebounds and two assists, while senior Lucas Pichette posted 12 points, seven rebounds and one assist from his low-post position.

The final top performer from today's action was junior Eric Matheson with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Pitt-Bradford carved out its victory by holding the advantage on the boards and in the turnover column. The Panthers collected a total of 11 steals to the Lions' five.

A halftime score of 37-29 had the Panthers cruising at the break. They didn't let up in the second half and found a way to record the big road win.

Pitt-Bradford now faces Mount Aloysius in Cresson, Pa., tomorrow, Jan. 11, at 3 p.m.
