NEWARK, N.J. – Senior guard Keith Burgess used an 11-point outing to become Pitt-Bradford's newest member of the 1,000-point Club as the men's basketball team dominated the Alfred State Pioneers 70-45 on Saturday evening.

Burgess entered the contest with a total of 991 career points before his 11-point showing put his numbers over the top. He tacked on one assist for good measure.

Senior transfer Hiree Peoples was the leading scorer for the Panthers on the night with 18 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Senior Lucas Pichette had a good start to his season at the post position with 12 points and five rebounds.

Pitt-Bradford shot 43.2 percent from the floor in the first period and was 5-of-8 from the line.

The second half saw much of the same action as the first. The lead never dwindled beneath a cushion of 20-plus points and the Panthers closed out a big victory to begin the 2014-15 season.
