BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team will travel to Penn State-Behrend Wednesday for its second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference road action of the season.
Pitt-Bradford (14-10, 7-5 AMCC) has won five of its last six games and most recently split with Pitt-Greensburg Saturday.
Saturday, Pitt-Bradford dropped the opener, 1-0, then Jason Lucarelli came home on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth for the walk-off win in game two.
Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, Lucarelli and Kevin Rehak started the inning with back-to-back singles then the Bobcats loaded the bases by intentionally walking Austin Parent.
Jake McNabb then stepped in and struck out on a ball in the dirt that got past the catcher, allowing Lucarelli to slide in safely at home and secure the walk-off win.
Reid Tarnowski and Alex Miles started each game Saturday, both holding the Greensburg in check.
On the season, Matt Hair has emerged as the team's offensive leader hitting .339 overall and .375 in conference play.
Parent leads the conference with a .545 on-base percentage and 26 walks.
On the mound, Logan Edmonds leads the starting rotation with a 2.73 ERA while Andrew Bacha has the most strikeouts with 28 whiffs.
Out of the bullpen, Nate Renick has moved into a priority role with a 1.32 ERA in 13.2 innings pitched while earning a 2-0 record and a pair of saves. Alex Andrzejewski is tied with Renick for the most appearances this season with nine. He has 23 strikeouts in 21.2 innings pitched, including an immaculate nine-pitch, three-strikeout inning against Hilbert last Wednesday.
So far this season, Penn State-Behrend owns a 16-9 overall record and a 5-3 mark in AMCC action.
Behrend's Phil Myers has the second-most wins in the conference with five and owns the AMCC's third-best ERA at 1.36.
Offensively, Scott Sada leads the conference with 15 stolen bases and 17 doubles while scoring the third-most runs with 32. He's added five homers and 22 RBIs as well.
Thursday's doubleheader was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was rescheduled due to incoming rain.
First pitch for game one remains 1 p.m. with game two coming after around 3:30 p.m.
