Pitt-Bradford Caps Homestand With Fredonia Non-Conference Showdown Friday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team will play the final contest of a five-game homestand Friday as Fredonia comes to the Kessel Athletics Complex for a single non-conference game.

Pitt-Bradford (8-8) is coming off a doubleheader split with Alfred State Wednesday, picking up its first AMCC victory of the season in game one.

In game one, Kevin Rehak hit his first career homer to help back a solid 5.1 inning, six strikeout outing from Reid Tarnowski on the mound.

Then in game two, Alex Miles delivered eight innings of three-hit ball on the mound.

Pitt-Bradford's lone run of the ballgame came on an RBI double from Tyler Hoops.

On the season, Austin Parent leads the team with a .347 batting average, .551 slugging percentage, .529 on-base percentage and 17 walks.

Hoops is hitting .316 and leads the team with 11 RBIs, 13 runs scored and 18 hits.

On the mound, Logan Edmonds owns the third-best ERA in the AMCC at 1.59. He leads the team with 17 strikeouts in 22.2 innings pitched.

So far this season, Fredonia owns an even 9-9 overall record.

The Blue Devils are riding a four-game losing skid, most recently getting swept by Penn State-Behrend on Sunday.

Tyler Phillips leads the team in hitting with a .409 batting average while Kevin Yirinec has a .380 batting average with a 22 RBIs.

On the mound, Luke Kuczewski is 3-1 with a 1.64 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 33 innings pitched.

First pitch Friday is set for 3 p.m.
