ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Junior catcher Austin Parent has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for his performance during the final games of the regular season, conference officials announced Monday.

The Gilbert, Ariz., native belted three home runs last week on his way to recording 10 RBIs, 10 runs scored and a stellar 1.300 slugging percentage to lead the Panther offense in a crucial week.

He went 12-for-20 (.600) in five games and had seven extra-base hits while drawing four walks and recording a perfect fielding percentage behind the plate.

On Sunday, he hit his eighth home run of the season, tying the Panthers' single-season home run record. Parent went on to break that record with a three-run shot Monday afternoon.

Parent finished the season leading the AMCC in batting average (.496), on-base percentage (.616) and slugging percentage (.916). He ranks top-five nationally in each category.

His 48 RBIs are second-most in the AMCC and his 47 runs scored are third most.

This is the second time this season Parent was named AMCC Player of the Week. He first won it on April 16, and that same week he was the NCBWA National Player of the Week, HEROSports.com's D3 HERO of the Week and named to D3Baseball.com's Team of the Week.
