BRADFORD, Pa. -- The No. 4 seeded University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team will host Penn State-Altoona for the First Round of the 2018 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament Sunday.
The First Round is a best-of-three format with the first two games played on Sunday and game three played on Monday if necessary.
The winner will advance to the Championship Round hosted at No. 1 seeded La Roche starting Thursday, May 10.
The two teams met in the regular season finale Friday, the Panthers needing just one win in the doubleheader to secure home-field advantage in the AMCC Frist Round.
They did just that, capturing a win in game one, 10-6, powered by two home runs from Austin Parent and a three-run shot and four total RBIs from Jay Clinger.
Alex Andrzejewski picked up the victory on the mound, tossing six of the seven innings while striking out three and taking a no-hitter into the fourth inning.
With the First Round fate already determined, the Penn State-Altoona took game two.
Joshua Zelinski broke out for four hits, as many RBIs and a three-run home run. Tyler Hoops also went yard for Pitt-Bradford.
The Panthers finished the season at 10-8 in AMCC action.
Parent had not only one of the best seasons in Pitt-Bradford history but also one of the best in the country, finishing in the top five in batting average in the nation at .491 and leading the country in on-base percentage at .614.
He has also hit safely in 15-straight games.
Parent leads the Panthers in nearly every offensive category, but also providing pop in the Panther lineup are Dalton Renn with six home runs and 32 RBIs and Clinger with 11 doubles and 24 RBIs.
Sawyer Packard (29 RBIs) and Tim Brown (23 RBIs) are also key run producers in the Panther offense that averages 9.13 runs per game.
As the Panthers leadoff hitter, Hoops has the second-best on-base percentage on the team at .480.
The Pitt-Bradford Brody Wood has been on a tear as of late, hitting .364 in AMCC contests.
On the mound, Ryan Boyer is one of the top pitchers in the AMCC, striking out the second-most batters in the conference at 65. He owns a 4-2 record and leads the team with 51.2 innings pitched.
Andrew Bacha is another top starter for the Panthers, delivering 41.2 innings in seven starts.
Out of the bullpen, the Panthers get solid innings from Benjamin Hayes, who has the third-most appearances in the AMCC at 15, Sam Gwiazdinski and Nate Renick.
Sunday's action is set to begin at 1 p.m.
