Ryan Boyer Named AMCC Pitcher of the Week For Second Time This Season

BRADFORD, Pa. – Junior Ryan Boyer of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, conference officials announced Monday.

"Ryan has been dialed in so far this year," Head Coach Zach Foster said. "We are trying to get his focus on being efficient and going deep in games. Kudos to Ryan for his early success thus far."

The Bradford native worked a seven-inning, complete-game shutout Sunday at Wilmington. He scattered four hits and struck out five while walking just one.

From the end of the third inning into the seventh, he sent down 11-straight batters faced, opening up the chances for the Panther offense that scored 12 runs.

With the win, Boyer improved to 2-1 on the season.

Boyer leads the AMCC with 31 strikeouts and is third with a 2.08 ERA through his first outings of the season.

The AMCC named Boyer the Pitcher of the Week on March 5 for the first time this season. The conference has given out four rounds of weekly awards this season and the Panthers have been playing for just three weeks.
