Pitt-Bradford baseball wrapped up play at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Fort Myers, Florida, Saturday with a pair of losses to Bethel. The Panthers lost 7-4 in the opening game and suffered a 10-1 setback in the nightcap.

Pitt-Bradford trailed 7-0 in the first game before striking for four runs in the sixth. Two runs scored following a Bethel error, and Tyler Hoops had a run-scoring double to right field. Two batters later, Kyle Hunted grounded out, scoring Hoops.

Hunt singled with one out in the seventh to keep the Panthers alive, but Jay Clinger struck out swinging in the next at bat to end the game.

Pitt-Bradford outhit the Royals 10-3, yet the Panthers committed four errors and pitchers Alex Andrzejewski and Ryan Boyer combined to walk five batters.

Brody Wood and Austin Hoggatt each had two hits apiece for the Blue and Gold, and Samuel Dreistadt drove in a pair of runs. Andrzejewski allowed seven runs, three earned, in four innings of work. He walked four and struck seven.

The Royals' Noah Luedtke limited Pitt-Bradford to two hits and one run in six innings to stymie the Panthers in game two. It was more than enough as Bethel pounded out 16 hits and scored in every inning but two.

Pitt-Bradford starter Ryan Northcott was tagged for five runs in 5.2 innings pitched, and the Royals erupted for five runs off relievers Tom Easton and Zach Suchocki in the seventh. Dreistadt had two of the team's three hits.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 3-9 on the season and returns to action next weekend with a three-game series at Ursinus.
