Borowski, Clinger and Showers selected to All-AMCC honors

BRADFORD, Pa. -- Three members of the Pitt-Bradford baseball team received all-conference honors for the 2015 season as announced by the league office on Wednesday. 

The Panthers had two players selected to First Team All-AMCC in senior Connor Borowski (Bradford/Bradford) and freshman Jay Clinger (Edinboro/Northwestern) with senior Ethan Showers (Hughesville/Hughesville) coming away with a Second Team All-AMCC selection.

Borowski, a native of Bradford, received First Team All-AMCC as an outfielder. Borowski had a tremendous year for the Panthers this season leading the team in different categories, including slugging percentage (.644), home runs (8), runs scored (27) and stolen bases (11). Borowski also finished tied for first in the AMCC in home runs, seventh in stolen bases and set the Panthers' home run record this season. 

Clinger also received First Team All-AMCC honors as a second baseman, tying for second on the team in hits (37) and third in runs scored (20). Clinger was the only freshman in the AMCC to receive first-team honors.

Showers was selected to Second Team All-AMCC as a shortstop. Showers led the Panthers in RBIs (27), hits (39) and batting average (.358). He also set the school record for most triples in a single game this season with three and sits in second with most triples in a single season with five.

The Pitt-Bradford baseball team finished (10-18-1, 7-8-1) fifth in the AMCC standings to cap off a hard-fought season for Coach Bret Butler and his squad.
