Panthers lose both to La Roche College in AMCC doubleheader

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Pitt-Bradford baseball team fell in both games to top ranked AMCC opponent La Roche College, 5-0 and 18-1.

The Panthers struggled at the plate in game one as the opposing pitcher for La Roche only surrendered three hits.

The Red Hawks took the lead in the top of the second after they scored on a fielder's choice and an RBI single that made it 2-0 in the second inning.

The Red Hawks expanded the lead in the fourth after an RBI triple plated the first run of the inning and they got another one after a fielding error to push the lead to 4-0.

The Red Hawks added one more in the seventh to ensure their 5-0 victory.

Game two did not go in favor of the Panthers as La Roche started the game coming away with nine runs in the third inning coming off of only three hits. Eight Red Hawks touched base without putting the ball into play.

The Red Hawks continued to expand their lead scoring two in the fourth, five in the fifth and two more in the ninth.

The only run of the game for the Panthers came off the bat of senior Connor Borowski (Bradford/Bradford) as he hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. Borowski finished the game going 4-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

The Panthers will take the field again as they host D'Youville on April 21 at 1 p.m.
