Pitt-Bradford loses to Thiel College, 14-1

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Pitt-Bradford baseball team dropped its fourth straight game Thursday against Thiel College, 14-1.

Pitt-Bradford (0-4) was led by senior Connor Borowski (Bradford/Bradford) who went 2-2 on the day with a run scored.

Thiel College (5-1) was led by Brian Synder who went 3-4 with three RBIs and one run scored in a big win for the Tomcats.

The Panthers got behind early as Thiel put up one run in its first at bats after an RBI double by Trent Smith.

Pitt-Bradford tied the game up in the next inning after, as senior Scottie Frisina drove in Borowski, who walked, on an RBI single, evening the game at 1-1.

That would be the end of the offense for the Panthers, as they struggled to produce any more runs. Thiel held Pitt-Bradford to only four hits on the day and put up 14 of its own.

Thiel took the game and ran with it after they posted six runs in the third inning and six more in the fifth inning on a barrage of hits to lead the Panthers 13-1 after five.

The Tomcats put one more run on the board in the sixth for the 14-1 final score.

Pitt-Bradford will put this one behind them as they regroup for its next game on Friday at 9 a.m. against Rivier College.
