Sizani Interns with AMCC

BRADFORD, Pa. – University of Pittsburgh at Bradford student-athlete Sihle Sizani has been hired as an intern by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for the 2020-21 academic year.

Sizani, a junior soccer player from Washington D.C., was one of two student-athletes from within the conference who were hired as a Social Media and Operations Intern for the year.  With this position, Sizani and his fellow intern will manage the AMCC’s social media accounts, help with conference initiatives and aid in managing championship events.

Sihle is studying sport and recreation management at Pitt-Bradford and believes that the internship will provide him with some valuable experience. “I really look forward to using this internship to not only use the skills and knowledge gained in my classes, but also add to them,” said Sizani. “It will help give me a more diverse experience base in the field, as well as serve as an excellent networking opportunity,” he added.

Sizani is a three-year member of the Pitt-Bradford soccer team, starting 24 games in goal for the Panthers. He has won 9 games, including 7 last season. He posted a .767 save percentage which was the third-highest in the conference.

He was also a factor in the team’s success in the classroom, as they recently received a team academic award from United Soccer Coaches.

“Sihle is a great leader on our team,” said head men’s soccer coach Nate Whitehurst. “I know he will do a great job for the AMCC and will also use this experience to advance his career.”

Sizani began the internship on Oct. 5.
