Bradford, Pa. -- Women's Basketball player Shaelyn Snipes has been named Female Athlete of the Week by the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford for her performances between December 2nd and 8th.
Snipes averaged 13 points and 10.5 rebounds over 2 games during the week. She scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a home loss to Alfred State on Wednesday. she also added 2 assists and 2 steals. The performance marked her first career double-double. Over the weekend, Snipes scored 16 and collected 9 rebounds in a loss to LaRoche.
On the season Snipes is averaging 12.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. She is the team's leading scorer through 7 games. The women's basketball team will have a week off during finals, and will return to action on Saturday December 14th. They will host Franciscan University with tip-off set for 4:00 p.m.
