BRADFORD, Pa. -- Junior shortstop Tyler Hoops of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team has been named a Pitt-Bradford Athlete of the Week for his performance during the period of March 18-24.

Hoops went 5-for-8 combined with four runs scored, two walks, a double and an RBI in the Panthers' home and AMCC opening doubleheader Sunday.

With the Panthers down to their final out in game two, down by two, Hoops knocked a double to left center and later scored on a pinch-hit single from Jake McNabb to cut the deficit to one.

On the season, the Panther leadoff hitter leads the team with 13 runs scored and 10 RBIs. His .333 batting average is second on the team, and he is tied with Austin Parent for the team lead with 16 hits and 12 walks.
