BRADFORD, Pa. -- Junior Madison East of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team has been named a Pitt-Bradford Athlete of the Week for her performance during the period of April 22-28.
East had a big week at the plate, delivering multiple big hits for the Panther offense.
She went 5-for-12 for a .417 batting average and drove in five runs.
Saturday, she knocked a two-out, two-run single that gave the Panthers an early 2-0 lead at Mount Aloysius.
Then Sunday night against La Roche, she hammered a bases-loaded, bases-clearing triple that put the Panthers on top. She scored on the play as well, as the second baseman bobbled the relay.
She also scored three runs and stole a base during the week.
