BRADFORD, Pa. -- Freshman Caleb Hansen of the Pitt-Bradford swim team has been named a Pitt-Bradford Athlete of the Week for his performance at the AMCC Championships this past week.
Hansen set the Pitt-Bradford school record with his performance in the 500-freestyle. During Thursday morning's preliminaries, Hansen broke the Pitt-Bradford school record with a time of 4:53.88, beating the previous top time of 4:55.04. Then in the night's finals events, he took another four seconds off the top time and re-broke the record with a time of 4:49.92, which was good for sixth place in the event.
He also swam on the 400-medley relay team that took second place with a time of 3:40.53.
In the 100-backstroke, he grabbed fourth place with a time of 55.78 and he took third in the 200-backstroke in 1:59.31.
